Dr. Tesner was raised in Warren, Ohio. His college education began at Penn State University where he lettered in both football and lacrosse and played in championship games under Coach Joe Paterno. He received a liberal arts degree in 1975. He graduated from Kirksville College of Orthopedic Medicine in 1980. His orthopedic residency was at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio followed by a sports medicine fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital.

For the past 35 years, Dr. Tesner has been a leader in sports medicine in Ohio from high school to professional teams. His service has extended from team physician for the Ohio University football squad to the Columbus Blue Jackets, the Columbus Clippers and various local high schools, as well as served as team physician for the US Olympic ski team. He was the Orthopedic Department chair for Ohio Health for 15 years and is sought out for his expertise nationally.

Dr. Tesner is excited to be continuing his professional career with his “dive” into hyperbaric oxygen and its many applications, extending but not limited to its use in assisting with bone and wound healing. The Avenu Wellness Center is proud to welcome Dr. Tesner as our medical director!

Kimberly Hyatt is a board certified nurse practitioner. After graduating Capital University with highest honors in Exercise Science 2012,Kimberly returned to Capital University for their Accelerated Nursing Program and graduated 2014. She received her Masters in Nursing Science from Otterbein University 2019 and became licensed as a FNP-C. Kimberly’s work experience includes 5 years five years at Nationwide Children’s Hospital where she earned awards for her teamwork, work ethic, and patient and family interactions.

She accepted a position in a progressive therapy clinic where she became well-versed in Hyperbaric Therapy, IV Therapies, laser, cryo therapy, and was certified in PEMF and ozone therapies. She was introduced to natural and regenerative therapies in 2019 and was convinced of their tremendous value after seeing results first hand and performing hundreds of joint injections since 2020.

As a martial artist, former martial arts instructor, yoga student, and track and field athlete, Kimberly knows the value of staying healthy and active. Being a perpetual learner, she studies nutrition and natural approaches to achieving gut, brain, and joint health. Kimberly and her two children live in the Columbus,Ohio area where they are active in the church and community.

I have completed certifications for hypnotherapy/NLP, substance abuse, couples therapy, mindfulness/meditation, breath work, and energetic heart/body centered yoga techniques, Community Building, Subtle Energy training and Access Consciousness. I support, encourage, and empower you in learning about innate recovery within yourself. I specialize in working with trauma, self sabotage, mood disorders, childhood abuse, relationship conflict, substance abuse/addiction and pain.

I utilize integrative/somatic, trauma informed, holistic and humanistic approaches that are 'non-pathologizing.' We are all highly creative and are capable of growing through limitations, releasing obsolete patterns and living purposely and joyfully in the moment.

Avenu Wellness Center got me through multiple injuries and improved my daily quality of life. I definitely noticed when I missed a hyperbaric appointment, it makes you feel so rejuvenated and ready for more. Thank you guys for always supporting me and pushing me to best athlete I can be!

The staff and facilities at The Avenu Wellness Center are wonderful. I received hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments following surgery for a ruptured achilles tendon and was treated with care and professionalism. Immobile lower extremities do not have the best circulation - which is not conducive to wound healing. I wanted to get ahead of any possibility of infection and expedite healing and I attribute my HBOT therapies as the reason my incision healed so well and so quickly. There are so many benefits to HBOT and I'm so glad I received care here following my surgery. Highly recommend.

I wanted to send you a follow-up note on how pleased I am with the results of my treatments at the Avenu Wellness Center.  

For the last 3-4 years my neuropathy was so bad I could hardly walk or stand without significant pain.  After the HBOT and PEMF therapy, the pain and tingling are mostly gone and the numbness is significantly reduced and improving.

 Just as important to me was the incredible staff at The Avenu. Everyone was professional, knowledgeable, caring and went above and beyond to achieve my results.

 Also I’ve been off my neuropathy pain medication since January and no longer need it.  My blood pressure has also been significantly reduced. I’ll be checking in with my family doctor to see about weaning off that medication as well.

Following an unfortunate accident, breaking my heel bone in 3 places, I had 2 rods put in. This required surgery and a three month hiatus from walking on my injured foot. It was a long, painful three months of crutches, wheelchairs, and scooters. The inflammation and pain that I was going through was almost too much. I was blessed to find out about The Avenu Wellness Center and specifically their Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber and Wave Generator. Just 1 week after beginning in their Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber I was walking with two crutches. After my very first session I noticed a significant mental clarity that had been missing in my life. After each session I felt significantly stronger, physically and mentally. After just two weeks I no longer needed crutches, only a boot.</p><p>During my sessions at The Avenu Wellness Center I had a facial done. My esthetician asked me what I had been using on my skin. She said that my skin was, "Remarkably bright, hydrated, and youthful looking". A session with my esthetician that was usually 1 hour was just 30 minutes this time. Other months have passed by and I am back to regular life. It has been surprisingly easy even after being idle before I began the sessions at Avenu Wellness. I have also lost 15lbs! The results have improved every aspect of my health, vitality, and youthfulness.
