FAQS
Please take a look below for answers to some of the most commons questions that are asked about our products and services.
Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields (PEMFs)
All that is required of the patient is to simply lie on a mat or sit with a device placed on the affected area. Since no physical activity is involved for the patient, most folks feel relaxed during the process.
NO. The magnetic-pulses can be adjusted to you individually so they do not hurt. However, you may feel the pulsing of the magnetic current during the session.
Anyone from the very young to the elderly can use PEMF safely and without negative side effects. The only contraindications are for those individuals with pacemakers, insulin pumps, or other electrical implants, and pregnancy.
Yes. You will change into scrubs for the session.
Treatment sessions are 30-60 minutes.
Metal implants in general are fine so long as the area is treated with the recommendations of our doctor.
Stay hydrated and drink water. PEMFs stimulate currents in tissues. These currents simply don’t flow well without hydration. Thus, drinking 8 glasses of water a day is necessary for individuals using PEMFs. Following the doctors nutritional recommendations will also assist as mineral content helps with PEMF.
A static magnet is limited to a constant magnetic field whereas pulsed electromagnetic fields involve frequencies thus creating much more profound actions in the body. Pulsed electromagnetic fields are produced when an electrical current passes through a frequency generator. A property of physics is that where there is an electrical current, there is an ensuing magnetic field. The frequencies then ride on the magnetic field, which then pass to the body.
The most important element of pulsed electromagnetic fields is that they are based on specific generated frequencies that resonate with the same cellular frequencies in the body. For example, this resonance affects the red blood cell membrane with release of nitric oxide, NO, among many other actions that cause blood vessel dilatation. This improves circulation of blood and therefore oxygen to tissues.
Our device provides 1 to 100 Gauss and 1-15,000 Hz
Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBOT)
HBOT is usually a restful and relaxing experience. You will enter the Cube and have a blanket, water, pillow, and noise cancelling headphones and get comfortable. You may either sit up or lay down for your session. Color therapy and/or frequencies may be added to supplement your treatment. The clear door is shut and the unit is pressurized (like flying in a plane). Most people use the time to meditate or nap.
Probably not. The unit does pressurize like when flying in a plane, so there is a possibility you will feel pressure in the ears. This can be counteracted by drinking water or chewing gum.
Yes. You will change into scrubs for the session in one of our changing rooms.
Yes. Scrubs must be worn for your session. We have changing facilities and lockers for you to put your clothing, undergarments, jewelry, and personal effects during your time at the center.
Sessions are approximately 90 minutes including pressurization and de-pressurization.
Use a decongestant (such as flonase) and drink plenty of water to lesson the chance of ear pain during pressurization. You may also want to refrain from drinking carbonated beverages, alcohol, and caffeine for four hours prior to the session. Additionally, clients should refrain from smoking and nicotine products while receiving hyperbaric treatments as they interfere with the body’s ability to transport oxygen.
LED Red Light
These sessions are super easy and painless. You will sit in a comfortable chair and the LED Red Light device will be placed no more than 12 inches away from the desired area (in the case of hand mitts or Baton Rouge it will be in direct contact with the skin). Multiple lights will emit various frequencies. If light is to be directed at the face, you will be given protective eyeware. Session length depends on the chosen device and will typically be from 10 -20 minutes.
No. At most you may feel a gentle warming sensation.
No. You may remain in your street clothes, unless you have booked other same day treatments that require you to change into scrubs.
General
We do not accept insurance at this time. You may check with your carrier to see if they accept payments from your HSA or FSA.
All of our treatments are non-invasive. There should be no pain or visible markings left behind. It is possible with pressurization in the Hyperbaric Oxygen Cube that one may experience a pressure in the ears, similar to when flying in a plane. This can be alleviated by chewing gum, swallowing, or pinching the nose and blowing out through a closed mouth. Various other treatments may cause localized temporary tingling or warming sensations, but should not leave lasting effects.
You are welcome to spend time in our quiet room and relax and take the time to read, relax, or utilize some of our brain games. The front desk has a binder with healthy food delivery and local restaurant options for if you would like lunch.
Your support person is welcome to come in and wait while you do your sessions. We have a waiting area in the lobby, a quiet room with comfy chairs, and weather permitting, a patio.
